North Lido Beach
North Lido Beach
400 Ben Franklin Drive, Lido Key, FL
North Lido isn't as crowded as the main beach but more boaters are usually here so be prepared to smell boat fuel. You can see Longboat Key in the distance.
There is a short nature trail with a few benches.
No lifeguards here. Currents can be strong.

Siesta Key Beach
Siesta Key Beach
948 Beach Road, Siesta Key, FL
One of my FAVORITE beaches if I'm going swimming.
Unfortunately there is close to zero shade here unless you go sit at the concessions or by the road at a pavilion. For swimming this beach is awesome! The powder white sand and usually clear water make for perfect conditions. It is almost always crowded unless you get here at sunrise or sunset. I could say much more but I've included a link at the top of the page.

Stump Pass Beach State Park
Stump Pass Beach State Park
900 Gulf Blvd Englewood, FL 34233
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome place! I absolutely love this park! Anyone who makes it to this area has to visit this beach.
There is a short hiking trail (1.3miles) that takes you to the end of Manasota Key. I've found hundreds of sharks teeth here. Around here they say Venice beach for sharks teeth but my findings have been the best at Stump Pass.
Get here early, before 11 am if you can because parking is very limited. This is good though because the beach doesn't get packed. There is some shade along the trail and a few covered picnic tables. I've seen manatees, dolphins, gopher tortoises, snowy egrets, least terns, osprey and much more! Kayaking and canoeing here is fantastic. You can easily make it to Peterson Island (that's what you see in the big picture) or Whidden Key.
The park doesn't rent kayaks or canoes but I've seen many outfitters here. Nice bathrooms and drinking water. This place is a must see before developers or a hurricane destroy it.

Longboat Key beaches (LBK)
Longboat Key, FL 34228
There are a few public parking lots on the key. The sand isn't the powder white Siesta sand but still nice with some shells. The beach is laid back but somewhat small. Since there is limited parking it's usually not too crowded here.
No lifeguards and there is a steep drop off not far off shore.
The north end of the key is super nice! Again there is limited parking. If you walk all the way to the north end of the key you get a nice view of Anna Maria Island and the scenery here is worth the walk. You can also find some privacy here. I've seen lots of dolphins and sting rays jumping out of the water here.
